"Off-Topic" is a silkscreen print I made. It's my favorite print, personally, and is meant to capture the kind of forum culture of the 2000's/2010's internet. It's both a critique of that past, but also nostalgic. It depicts the silly reality of people gatekeeping the status of "Anime Freakz" in a cruel way, but also a unique era of the internet that's not around anymore. I found it interesting to depict a forum in silkscreen. Like the internet, print is a medium that is reproducible. But of course, while the internet is designed via HTML and CSS, I had to paint everything here by hand. It's interesting to me to translate the landscape of a website into a handmade likeness.
