Welcome!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Ellie, and this is my website.

I am a recent gradaute with a degree in cultural anthropology and a minor in German. In my free time I like to tinker with computers, develop video games/mods, and make art. As such, I've develoepd a rather eclectic set of interests, and didn't have an easy way to share what I do with others!

The goal of this site is to be a portfolio of my various works, regardless of medium. Whether it's a patch I made for Skyrim, a silkscreen print, or a visual novel, you can find it here. Feel free to keep reading to learn more about who I am, or use the left-hand menu to see some of the things I've made. Thanks!

My research focus has always been on digital communities; particularly, digital communities making art. This is reflected often in my artwork. I like to play with mediums, depicting the digital in the analog and vice versa. This website itself is my attempt to experiment with and better learn HTML/CSS, and of course, is purposefully evoking a kind of "Web 1.0" look! This interesection of interests has led me to develop skills as an artist, a thinker, and a tinkerer. I love to learn new things, and put them to the test in unconventional ways.

This desire to test and tweak led me to start making mods for some of my favorite games. Publicly, I have released several patches for inter-mod compatibility in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: typically with a focus on the Requiem roleplaying overhaul and custom follower mods. There are also several modding projects I have yet to release publicly, such as the sprite edits I am undertaking to combine two Stardew Valley overhaul mods. While not my mods, I have also contributed German language translations to several popular Minecraft mods. Additionally, I have released a handful of Minecraft modpacks, including custom tweaks to existing mods via JSON files and similar formats.

Above all, I'd describe myself as someone who enjoys getting hands-on. I enjoy troubleshooting, discovering why something isn't working, and fixing it. I like to try my hand at new things, and then try to put them to use in unusual and new ways. I hope that comes across to anyone viewing my creations, whether they're downloading a mod from the Nexus or looking at something I've drawn :)
